Fitbit has released its latest product, Fitbit Premium, a paid subscription service available through the Fitbit app. This service is said to offer users the most individualized experience to date, with over ten years of Fitbit data being utilized, as well as medical and professional advice with actionable coaching and guidance.
Fitbit Premium’s features are tailored to improve sleep through advance sleep features, assist with healthier eating, personal insights, thousands of exercise sessions, health reports and much more. The service will be accessible to Fitbit Health Solutions customers, as well other Fitbit users via Fitbit Care.
Although the digital health market is booming, with approximately 14 million adult Americans making use of a paid subscription digital health service every year, data shows there has been a gap for a single application offering all the desired features in one place.
Co-founder and CEO of Fitbit, James Park, said in a statement following the launch, “At Fitbit, we’re focused on making health accessible and more achievable. With Fitbit Premium, we’re excited to deliver our most personalized experience yet. It will evolve with you and get smarter over time, delivering the support and guidance you need to help you achieve your health goals. The launch of Premium also marks an important milestone as we expand our business beyond devices and deliver new and innovative ways to engage our more than 27 million active users, while also attracting new users to the Fitbit platform.”
Fitbit’s collaboration with medical professionals from Fitbit’s Advisory Panel includes advice from exercise and clinical psychologists, sleep scientists and nutritionists to give subscribers the personalized tools to lead to better behavior choice and health through a holistic approach. Fitbit Premium also takes into account your goals, fitness level, schedule, preferences, and history.
The company also announced that in 2020 it will add a one-on-one coaching service to Fitbit Premium’s list of features.
